“Into the Badlands” is cementing the roles of some of their newer characters, while others are set to make their own entrance this season. According to Deadline, Sherman Augustus (“Westworld”), Babou Ceesay (“Guerilla”) and Ella-Rae Smith (“Clique”) have been bumped up to series regulars, alongside the previously announced new series regular Lorraine Toussaint (“Cressida”). Dean-Charles Chapman (“Game of Thrones”) and Lewis Tan (“Marvel’s Iron Fist”) will join in recurring roles. Tan showed his excitement for his new role on his Instagram, check the post out below.
Augustus, Ceesay and Smith will return to their roles as Nathaniel Moon, Pilgrim, and Nix, respectively. Newcomer Chapman will play Castor, a young teen whom Pilgrim has all but adopted and controls with his own nefarious powers. Tan will portray Gaius Chau, the younger brother of Baron Chau. Imprisoned by Baron for liberating her cog slaves, Gaius will become a reticent player in Baron’s way against the Widow.
The newcomers and newly-promoted actors join “Into the Badlands'” stars Daniel Wu (“Warcraft: The Beginning”), Aramis Knight (“Ender’s Game”), Emily Beecham (“Hail, Caesar!”), Orla Brady (“American Odyssey”), Ally Ionnaides (“Parenthood”) and Nick Frost (“Hot Fuzz”). The hit series was created by showrunners Alfred Gough (“Smallville”) and Miles Miller (“Spider-Man 2”), with executive producing from the pair and Stacey Sher (“The Hateful Eight”), Michael Shamberg (“Garden State”), David Dobkin (“The Judge”), Stephen Fung (“The Adventurers”), Michael Taylor (“TURN: Washington’s Spies”) and Wu.
“Into the Badlands” returns with a 16-episode Season 3 sometime in 2018.
