WATCH: Life at Coney Island is About to Change in Trailer for Woody Allen’s ‘Wonder Wheel’

Amazon Studios released the official trailer for Woody Allen’s “Wonder Wheel.”

The official synopsis reads:

“‘Wonder Wheel’ tells the story of four characters whose lives intertwine amid the hustle and bustle of the Coney Island amusement park in the 1950s: Ginny (Kate Winslet),  an emotionally volatile former actress now working as a waitress in a clam house; Humpty (Jim Belushi), Ginny’s rough-hewn carousel operator husband; Mickey (Justin Timberlake), a handsome young lifeguard who dreams of becoming a playwright; and Carolina (Juno Temple), Humpty’s long-estranged daughter, who is now hiding out from gangsters at her father’s apartment. Cinematographer Vittorio Storaro captures a tale of passion, violence, and betrayal that plays out against the picturesque tableau of 1950s Coney Island.”

Academy Award-winning director Woody Allen wrote and directed the film. With more than 50 directing credits to his name, his most recent Oscar nomination came for “Blue Jasmine” in 2013. That film earned him a nomination for writing and a nomination for Sally Hawkins for Supporting Actress. Cate Blanchett won her second Oscar for the title role.

This is the first collaboration between Allen and any of the four principal stars.

Kate Winslet has been nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning for the 2008 World War II-era drama “The Reader.”

Justin Timberlake received an Oscar nomination last year for his original song, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” from the animated feature “Trolls.”

“Wonder Wheel” will debut as the Closing Night Selection at New York Film Festival, and will be released in theaters December 1.
