The Orchard released the official trailer for Louis C.K.’s upcoming film, “I Love You, Daddy.”
The actor and comedian wrote, directed, and stars in this comedy about Award-winning TV producer Glen Topher. His life is thrown into disarray when his 17-year-old daughter strikes up a relationship with a significantly older film director. Meanwhile, he has relationship struggles when an actress he is dating wants a role he has already given to someone else.
Louis C.K. is a two-time Golden Globe nominee for his series “Louie.” He won a Primetime Emmy earlier this year for his Outstanding Variety Series, “Louis C.K. 2017.” He has received a number of Primetime Emmy nominations and wins over the years for writing, directing, and starring in his show “Louie,” as well as several other series. He has also appeared in Oscar nominated films including “Blue Jasmine” and “American Hustle.”
Chloë Grace Moretz stars as China, Glen’s underage daughter. At just 20, Moretz has already collected more than 60 film and television credits including “(500) Days of Summer,” “Kick Ass,” and “If I Stay.” She currently has six projects in various stages of production, including Luca Guadagnino’s horror fantasy “Suspiria.”
The much older film director, Leslie Goodwin, is played by none other than two-time Academy Award nominee John Malkovich. Malkovich was nominated in 1984 for “Places in the Heart,” and again in 1993 for “In the Line of Fire.”
“I Love You, Daddy” also stars Helen Hunt (“The Sessions”), Charlie Day (“Horrible Bosses”), and Rose Byrne (“Spy”). There are also a number of additional co-stars and cameos.
The film screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It will open in limited release November 17 and expand nationwide December 1.
