The 90th Academy Awards are 90 days away, and the Academy has announced that the broadcast will begin thirty minutes earlier than usual.

The Oscar ceremony will begin at 8:00 PM EST/5:00 PM PST. The pre-show events, including Red Carpet coverage, will begin at 6:30 PM EST on ABC.

Late-Night host Jimmy Kimmel returns to host the telecast for the second year in a row. Kimmel is the first Oscar host to run back-to-back shows since Billy Crystal in the 1990s. Since 1998, several have hosted multiple ceremonies, but always with at least one year off in between. While last year’s ratings were down slightly from the previous year, Kimmel’s reviews were overall very positive. And after last year’s Best Picture debacle, there is little doubt audiences will tune in to see what happens this year.

The 90th Academy Awards will be broadcast live from coast to coast on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
