On the agenda:
- DGA Winners were announced over the weekend and we talk about what it means to the Oscar race, in particular, Best Picture and Best Director. Is Guillermo del Toro a lock for “The Shape of Water” or can Christopher Nolan take up some space?
- Most of this episode focuses on the Awards Circuit Community Awards as we announce the winners and statistics regarding the 22 categories. What film will join the ranks of “La La Land,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” and “Birdman?”
- After weeks, we finally get into a spoiler full review of “Call Me by Your Name” and our initial thoughts about the film especially the actions of some of the characters and Michael Stuhlbarg’s big speech at the end.
