WATCH: Anna Faris, Eugenio Derbez go ‘Overboard’ in New, Full-Length Trailer!

The rebooted “Overboard” is living up to its fun, romcom origins. Anna Faris (“Mom”) and Eugenio Derbez (“How to Be a Latin Lover”) star in the upcoming flick, in which spoiled, billionaire playboy Leonardo (Derbez) hires Kate (Faris), a hardworking single mom, to clean his luxury yacht but quickly fires her. Karma comes knocking when Leonardo goes overboard–literally– and wakes up in Kate’s town with a bad case of amnesia. To pay back Leonardo’s previous rudeness, Kate decides to give the man “who’s never worked a day in his life” a taste of her own, claiming him as her husband and putting him to work.

A previous teaser trailer gave us a glimpse at the gender-bent the original roles of spoiled socialite and hardworking single dad, originally played by real-life couple Goldie Hawn (“Snatched”) and Kurt Russell (“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”). This time around, the trailer shows a softer side of Derbez’s Leonardo, who turns into a meal-prepping father who teaches Kate’s daughter how to ride a bike; sparks begin to fly as Kate sees Leonardo’s transformation from snooty to considerate. The trailer also features Mel Rodriguez (“Last Man on Earth”), a friendly contractor who takes newbie construction worker Leonardo under his wing. But will everything fall apart when Leonardo remembers his true, not-so-humble origins?

Rob Greenberg (“How I Met Your Mother”) is directing the reboot, which was written by Bob Fisher (“We’re the Millers”), Greenberg and original “Overboard” screenwriter Leslie Dixon (“Limitless”). Eva Longoria (“Telenovela”), and John Hannah (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) and Rodriguez are also featured alongside Faris and Derbez. Derbez, Benjamin Odell (“How to Be a Latin Lover”) and Fisher produce, with Brendan Ferguson (“Big Eyes”) producing. “Overboard,” which hails from MGM Pictures and Pantelion Films, is a 3Pas Studios production.

“Overboard” splashes into theaters April 13, 2018. Watch the new trailer below.
