With just a month to go before the biggest superhero crossover event in film history, Marvel unveiled character posters for “Avengers: Infinity War.”
Ten years ago, “Iron Man” kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since that time, the franchise has grown to include nineteen films, with more on the way.
“Avengers: Infinity War” puts all of the Avengers into a fight to save the universe. Together, they must conquer the deadly Thanos before he uses the Infinity Stones to destroy everything they’ve ever known.
The mega cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, and nearly everyone else who has never died in a Marvel film. Josh Brolin plays the terrifying Thanos.
The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. They previously directed “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and “Captain America: Civil War.” They will also direct the as yet untitled fourth Avengers film. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote the script. They also worked with the Russo Brothers on the previous “Captain America” films, and wrote the first, too.
Executive Producer Kevin Feige oversees the entire MCU. He produces “Infinity War” alongside Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Trinh Tran, Jon Favreau, James Gunn, and Stan Lee.
“Avengers: Infinity War” will be in theaters on April 27. Marvel recently announced they were moving up the release date from its original May 4th.
