Netflix has revealed the official trailer for the upcoming second season of “13 Reasons Why.”
The first season premiered last year to mixed reactions. It followed a high school student named Clay looking for the truth about his classmate’s decision to end her life.
Season 2 finds the students of Liberty High still trying to move on in the aftermath of Hannah’s death. But it turns out there is a big secret surrounding her death, and someone is determined to keep the truth hidden.
“13 Reasons Why” stars Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, Nina Cheek, Michael Sadley, Ke’Mari Moore, and many others.
Dylan Minnette has appeared in several films and TV series including “Prisoners,” “Scandal,” and “Let Me In.”
Katherine Langford earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the first season. Audiences unfamiliar with this show might recognize Langford from her role as Leah in “Love, Simon.”
The series is written, created and produced by Brian Yorkey. He comes from a background in musical theater. He is currently working on a musical version of “Freaky Friday” for the Disney Channel.
The first season sparked controversy for its depiction of suicide. For many others, though, they considered it a great way to open up communication about a topic that has long been taboo. Netflix launched a website to provide resources for anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts. They also provide discussion guides on a variety of topics from bullying to teenage drug abuse.
