“Outlander” is heading to Comic Con.
Cast members from the hit Starz show have confirmed their first appearance at New York Comic Con. Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin will attend and participate in a panel about the series this October.
Production is currently underway for the fourth season.
“Outlander” is based on a series of novels by Diana Gabaldon. It follows Claire Randall (Balfe), a nurse from the 1940s who is accidentally transported back to the 16th century. There she meets Jamie Fraser, a soldier from the Scottish highlands. Season four will follow Jamie and Claire to America, and is adapted from “Drums of Autumn,” the fourth book in Gabaldon’s series.
“Outlander” is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television. It was created for television by Ronald D. Moore.
New York Comic Con launched in 2006. It is not affiliated with internationally renowned San Diego Comic Con. Over the years, NYCC has welcomed guests including Kevin Smith, Stan Lee, Geoff Johns, and many more. What started with around 33,000 attendees has grown to nearly 200K. For the first few years, the Con was held in February, but it moved to October and continues to expand year after year.
