Last we received some big news about the major festivals for awards season, both in North America and abroad. TIFF and Venice announced large pieces of their lineups, making it officially festival season. One of the more recent festivals to move to the fall was the LA Film Festvial (Los Angeles Film Festival). The old festival used to occur in the Spring, but now with a move to the Fall, it offers an outlet for independent film and television in the middle of Oscar season.
