Pamela Adlon’s ‘Better Things’ Returns for a Third Season on FX

Pamela Adlon’s passion project “Better Things” is set to return to FX this February for the third season. The acclaimed comedy series stars Adlon in the lead role, who also directs an produces the show. FX released key art for the upcoming season today and you can see it below.

“Better Things” revolves around Sam Fox (Adlon), an uncompromising single parent and actor in Los Angeles caring for her three daughters: Max (Mikey Madison), Frankie (Hannah Alligood) and Duke (Olivia Edward). The show sees Sam balancing her life’s different facets, including dealing with her difficult British mother and navigating motherhood to the best of her ability. The raw honesty in Adlon’s performance and a relatable storyline that helped the show connect with viewers.

For this new season, a cast of renowned actors will be joining Adlon in this venture. Sharon Stone, Matthew Broderick, Doug Jones, Glynn Turman, Judy Reyes, Cree Summer, Charlie Robinson, Janina Gavankar and Marsha Thomason are some of the expected new faces.

The ridiculously multitalented Adlon is in charge of directing all 12 episodes for this third season. She simultaneously serves as a writer and showrunner. For its first season, “Better Things” received a Peabody Award and an Emmy nomination for Adlon as for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Season two was rewarded with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Adlon’s work. Last season the show held scores of 96 on Metacritic and a 96 (Certified Fresh) on Rotten Tomatoes.
