The Gay & Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association announced their annual Dorian Awards nominations which honor the best in film and TV. On the film front, “The Favourite” managed to live up to its title. The costume drama scored a whopping eight nominations including Best Director for Yorgos Lanthimos and Best Film.

However, “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” came out pretty strong as well with six nominations. For instance, Melissa McCarthy and Richard E. Grant received expected acting nods. Also, Marielle Heller landed a nomination in Best Director.

Meanwhile, “Roma” and “If Beale Street Could Talk” continue their critical dominance. Like “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” each film managed six nominations as well. But “A Star Is Born” came slightly behind with four.
