Following yesterday announcement in the documentary and television categories, the Directors Guild of America (DGA) has just revealed their feature film nominations celebrating the movies of 2018.

While most of the usual players that have dominated the season appeared among the nominees in the Feature Film race, the First-Time Feature Film category allowed for some surprises, such as the inclusion of Carlos López Estrada‘s “Blindspotting,” Boots Riley‘s “Sorry to Bother You,” and documentarian Matthew Heineman‘s first fiction outing, “A Private War.”

Spike Lee has finally earned his overdue and deserved first DGA nomination with “BlacKkKlansman,” and Bradley Cooper received mentions in both Feature Film and the First-Timers lineup for “A Star is Born.”
