We’re closer to the end of critics awards season, getting further from the Shallow. But the Georgia Film Critics Association still managed to announce their yearly nominees. As it turns out, “The Favourite” led the pack with nine nominations. However, “If Beale Street Could Talk” and “A Star Is Born” also led the pack with nine nominations. So, “The Favourite” didn’t entirely live up to its title.

But both “BlacKkKlansman” and “Black Panther” still achieved six nominations each. Meanwhile, critical juggernaut “Roma” landed five. Lastly, the documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” managed to achieve a Best Picture nomination. Given how documentaries typically don’t receive that kind of love, this was a nice surprise.
