‘Crazy Rich Asians’ and ‘A Star Is Born’ Are Among the 2019 Costume Designers Guild Nominees

2

The Costume Designers Guild announced their yearly slate of nominees which celebrate the best costume design in film and television. Included among the film nominations is “A Star Is Born” which continues its perfect guild run. However, films like “Crazy Rich Asians” still managed to make an appearance.

Meanwhile, the Period Film category is quite a “Mary” one. Both “Mary Poppins Returns” and “Mary Queen Of Scots” landed expected nominations. Although, the lack of “If Beale Street Could Talk” in that category is rather questioning.

Also, despite its guild underperformance, “Black Panther” still received a nomination in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film category. Out of all the films in that category, it has the biggest shot at a Best Picture nomination. So, it should win that one without breaking a sweat.
