Music City Film Critics Association Awards Winners- ‘Roma’ Takes Best Picture, Lynne Ramsay Claims Director

The Music City Film Critics Association recently announced their first ever awards winners. As it turns out, their winners might be music to anyone’s ears. For starters, critical favorite “Roma” took home Best Picture. However, they managed to completely spread the wealth with their winners. For instance, Lynne Ramsay achieved a Best Director win for “You Were Never Really Here.”

Also, “Sorry To Bother You” won Best Screenplay while “Widows” won Best Editing. As it turns out, they’ve managed to cite films that have been somehow overlooked this awards season. They did hand out prizes to films and performances that have been critical mainstays. But they didn’t completely go with consensus picks.

Interestingly, despite being based in the Music City, they gave “A Star Is Born” only two prizes. Although, they were for Best Music Film and Best Song for “Shallow.”
