**Circuit Q&A’s are our daily community question, posed to the readers of AwardsCircuit that cover various topics from film and television to general wonderings and for instances**
Cinematic universes are all the rage in Hollywood right now. From comic book properties and beyond, anything that can be franchised usually finds itself doing so. For the decision makers in the business, it’s a potentially easy way to print money. We don’t want to hear from them, however. Tying into this week’s release of “Glass” from M. Night Shyamalan, we want to know about the cinematic universes you’d like to see come to fruition.
Of course, the biggest one right now is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No other creative property ties itself together like this one. Kevin Feige has rewritten the rules in such a significant way, everyone else seems behind the curve by comparison. The MCU has set a standard, one that we’ve seen imitated by the DC Cinematic Universe, among others, but without any real notable success.
If the current cinematic universes don’t do it for you, is there one you’d like to see develop? Maybe another filmmaker like Shyamalan has a hit that could grow into something more? Perhaps you want that Universal Dark Universe to get a second bite at the apple? Those are hardly the only options out there. You might have a wholly original thing that you think is primed for a new cinematic universe. If so, we’re anxious to know what it is and why you think it would work.
Which cinematic universes do you readers hope we see continue to grow? Which films deserve to become the start of a cinematic universe? We’re all ears!
