It seems like “Roma” cannot be stopped. The Denver Film Critics Society is the latest critics group to give it another Best Picture win. Also, “Roma” took home Best Foreign Language Film as well. There may have been only a handful of categories but “Roma” still was the big winner regardless.

As for the rest of the winners, some of them felt like consensus picks. For example, Ethan Hawke won Best Actor while “Shallow” won Best Song. However, “A Quiet Place” surprisingly won Best Original Screenplay over critical faves like “The Favourite” and “First Reformed.”

“A Quiet Place” also won the award for Best Horror Film, tying with “Annihilation” in the process. Meanwhile, Mahershala Ali managed to win Best Supporting Actor. Ali may have just won the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor. But interestingly, this may be one of the few prizes from individual critics groups that he has won this season.
