Welcome to March! We’ve closed the book officially on February and are on to the third month of the year. This is usually when the films start to change and hint at what the blockbuster season could look like. This year will be no exception, so today we’re leaning in to that. What is the March release you’re most eager to see?
There are two gigantic March releases to mark down on the calendar. One is “Us” from Jordan Peele. Featuring a cast that includes Lupita Nyong’o, this horror follow-up to the Oscar winning “Get Out” is a huge deal. Will Peele be able to duplicate his success and craft another genre picture worthy of Oscar acclaim? It’s a high bar to clear, for sure, but bet against Peele at your own risk.
The other movie everyone is likely raring to see is “Captain Marvel.” The latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also the first one to feature a solo female protagonist and female director. Brie Larson plays Carol Danvers, under the direction of filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. With “Avengers: Endgame” looming next month, this MCU offering will really whet the appetite. Even removed from that epic, this superhero origin story looks to be a real blast. Rave early reviews so far don’t hurt either when it comes to building buzz.
Time to get excited for the month’s releases. What are you eager to see in March? Let us know your anticipated titles!
