Every year the Academy Awards bestowed upon a number of actors and actresses their first nominations. It’s a great moment, letting talented individuals into a prestigious club. However, while those select few are included, far more excluded. Today, we want to focus on the actors and actress who are overdue for a nomination. Who needs an Oscar nod? That’s what we’re keen to find out.
These lists are endless, but any number of actors spring to mind. A short list would include the likes of Jim Carrey, John Cusack, Paul Dano, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael B. Jordan, and Patrick Stewart. Some are still young and coming into their own, while others are looking to get back into contention. That being said, all of those names are hardly out of the running. It’s not a stretch to say that all could be nominees within the next decade. Either way, they’re sure overdue, and they’re hardly the only ones.
As for actresses, the list is just as long, in terms of being overdue for Oscar. Emily Blunt is a huge name that came close this year but just missed. Other names that leap to the forefront of the conversation include Jamie Lee Curtis, Pam Grier, Scarlett Johansson, Zoe Kazan, Kristen Stewart, and Robin Wright. Obviously, we’re just scratching the surface here.
