Illumination Entertainment has released the final trailer for “The Secret Life of Pets 2,” a follow up to the 2016 animated comedy about the secret lives of our pets and the adventures they get themselves into. The film is directed by Chris Renaud and co-director Jonathon del Val.
The new trailer finds Max, voiced by Patton Oswalt, as he attempts to rile up some bravery in the face of danger. It takes him a while, but he’ll get there. The pets get ready for a trip to the countryside, where Max will have to muster up courage outside of his little plastic cone. As for the rest of the colorful characters, they continue to get in and out of quirky shenanigans. Behind the cast of pets are the voices of Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, Jenny Slate, Elle Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, and Harrison Ford.
Continuing the story of Max and his pet friends, following their secret lives after their owners leave them for work or school each day.
The 2016 film, directed by Renuad and co-director Yarrow Cheney, grossed an impressive $368 million at the domestic box office, and over $875 million at the worldwide level. It was even recognized by the Cinema Audio Society for its sound mixing. It followed the story of Max and what becomes of his life when it’s suddenly upended by the arrival of Duke, a new friend, and roommate. Now in the sequel, Max and Duke are one of many moving parts of their funny pet lives. Illumination Entertainment is bound to knock this one out of the park again.
“The Secret Life of Pets 2” is produced by Illumination Entertainment and is being distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures. The film releases in theaters June 7.
