2017 Oscar Predictions – Best Sound Mixing

UPDATED – FEBRUARY 23, 2017 – FINAL PREDICTIONS – Lots of legends in the category, that are also unrewarded.  Kevin O’Connell and Greg P. Russell among the biggest names.  “Hacksaw Ridge” probably has the best shot of trying to overcome the musical in Sound Mixing but before reviews even dropped, was there any doubt that “La La Land” would be a strong force here? BAFTA chose “Arrival” and they LOVE their musicals.  Could it do some damage?

I really don’t see Rogue One winning any awards after The Force Awakens couldn’t win any last year, so I would put Arrival over it in my predictions. It’s a best picture nominee and it’s sound mixing(as well as it’s editing) is simply exquisite. This is La La Land’s to lose, but watch out for Hacksaw or Arrival to steal

      I agree completely.
