2018 Oscar Predictions –

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY

The adaptation of acclaimed novels and prolific stories become a focal point in an awards race.  It’s difficult to see where some of these could land but the Sundance Film Festival launched the campaign for Dee Rees (and co-writer Virgil Williams) with “Mudbound.”  Aaron Sorkin is an A-typical candidate for his directorial debut, “Molly’s Game” and Alex Garland is back with another sci-fi effort “Annihilation.”  

We’ll see how it all unravels.
