2018 Oscar Predictions –

FILM EDITING

(UPDATED – JUNE 2, 2017)

It’s easy to start this category with a strong correlation to Best Picture but there are a few action-y films that could be players like “Detroit” and “Blade Runner 2049.”  Lee Smith is one of the more overdue craftsmen of this branch with only 2 nods despite over half a dozen “nominatable” works.  We’ll be keeping a close eye on Dylan Tichenor, Pamela Martin, and Academy Award winner Stephen Mirrione.
