I’d probably have TGWTDT in Cinematography, but other than that very close to my own.
which is the song for THE HELP??
I don’t understand how the editor for The Help is not on your list when so many actresses from the film are strong favorites to get nominations. These performances, great as they are, have to be pieced together; not to mention the amount thought and skill that must go into putting together a film the sustains for two hours and twenty minutes without action, chases ….. A film that is essentially all dialogue.
I’m not an amiable fan of most of these awards so I’m going to keep these predictions short and sweet. If I ever meet the editor of this web site I’m gonna punch him… no let me rephrase that, I’m gonna slap him right across his ignorant face. Drive will recieve multiple technical awards such as: Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing perhaps along with Best Score. If not all these nominations at least a few. I would stake my life for this claim. Just you watch. Also, its a shame if one of the years earliest hits doesn’t receive at least a few technical awards: Source Code. Its a shame that this very well made, highly acclaimed film has already been forgotten and dismissed. Every year at least one film for one reason or another slips under the academy voters radar. I hope source code is not one of them. At least from a technical stand point.
Lol at the above comment. Such an ignorant person with so little understanding of what the Oscar race is all about. FIY Mellisa, besides supporting actor, DRIVE WONT it MAKE ANYWHERE ELSE. It had a horrible box office and it’s an art house film. What else do you need to understand how slim the chances of the film are. More over the editor of the website is pretty on point. Hugo was a smash hit in the festival circuit and critics alike. With a strong campaign behind Scorsese who unlike Refn, has a name in this industry, has a better chance at a BP nom than Drive has at a Best Score nom. Now go away troll somewhere else.
Many films this year deserve multiple technical awards. I am hoping drive captures a few and I think it will for cinematography and film editing and deservedly so. And all the other predictable, period piece films will aslo capture several noms because, well, just look at the oscars cliched history. To melissa: you’re right about source code it should’ve been recognized but its suffering from a poor box office and an early release, though it was extremely well made and should’ve been this years bourne ultimatum. And GL c’mon don’t be such a bitch dude. Stop following this chick around. I told you he likes you.
