    In a race that has been without a real frontrunner, the Producers Guild of America might have finally given us the one towreckitralph beat for Oscar’s Best Animated Feature this past weekend. Wreck-It Ralph was named the best animated theatrical motion picture of the year by the PGA, honoring Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Clark Spencer as the Outstanding Producer. Do you think this puts Wreck-It Ralph in front of other contenders like Frankenweenie and Brave?

    • As the talk of 2012 slowly comes to an end, The Awards Circuit moves forward by embracing the new film year. Joey Magidson and Terence Johnson spent a full nine days in Park City, Utah getting to know the films and filmmakers that could make a huge impact in 2013.     The Producers Guild of America has created a new website for their members as a way to provide better access to those looking for work. They started working on this back in February, and seem pleased with the final outcome. Here is the official press release:

    LOS ANGELES (July 30, 2012) – The Producers Guild of America announced today that it has launched a new, state-of-the-art online job board for Guild members and employers. The new Producers Guild Job Board can be found online at http://jobs.producersguild.org/.

    “One of the primary objectives of the Producers Guild is to provide our members with access to good, quality jobs, and this new site will greatly enhance our ability to do just that,” said Chris Thomes, Producers Guild Website Committee Chair and Vice President of New Media Council. “Reimagined and redesigned to be elegant and effective, our new site includes tools, functions and features that distinguish the Producers Guild Job Board as the best one-stop-shop for the highest-quality producing team members in the industry.”

    The Producers Guild of America (PGA) has released a statement today announcing key dates for submissions and deadlines for their 2013 Awards presentation. The 24th annual presentation of the awards show will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2013. The PGA has a great history of lining up with what will win the Best Picture Oscar. Since its inception in 1989, the winner of the PGA has gone on to win the Best Picture Oscar 16 times (around 70% of the time), including the last five years.
