Awards Circuit Staff Top 10 of 2015


top 10The Oscars have weighed in with their choices on what was “best” of the year, along with dozens of critics groups and guilds.  The staff of Awards Circuit has compiled their lists and have decided to share with you our Top 10 films from 2015.  With so many writers from so many different parts of the globe, we have to release our lists later than usual but still meaningful in a year that produced some stellar cinema.

Okay, so while I was killing time, I decided to merge all of the writers top 10 lists into a definitive top 10 list of the Awards Circuit staff. I did this by giving a film 10 points if it was #1 on someone’s list, 9 points if it was #2 on someone’s list, etc… So the Top 10 list (with a killer Top 3) is: 1. Spotlight (75 points) 2. 1. The Martian
2. Inside Out
3. Sicario
4. Mad Max: Fury Road
5. Spotlight
6. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
7. The Revenant
8. Creed
9. Ex Machina
10. Love & Mercy

Still have yet to see Room, Brooklyn, Steve Jobs, Anomalisa, Son of Saul, or Macbeth. But I have a feeling any of them could break into my top 10 (It’d be so hard to let go of any currently on my list though).


Likewise, I’ll leave my own Top Ten list. There’s a lot of films I haven’t seen this year, so keep it civil.
