‘Prometheus’ Sequel Finds Its Scribe

Prometheus

Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s long awaited Alien prequel, was one of the more divisive films of 2012. I credit Alien with being the film that inspired my love for movies, so I might have been a little more forgiving than others with the finished product. For this reason, you can count me in the group that will be excited to hear they are moving forward with a sequel, for which they have now chosen the man to write the script.

Prometheus (and LOST) scripter Damon Lindelof will not be returning to assist, instead screenwriter Jack Paglen has been selected to carry the series forward. Paglen’s only screenwriting credit thus far is on Wally Pfister’s upcoming sci-fi flick, Transcendence, so there isn’t much to go on as far as track record. If anything, this makes me a little more excited about Pfister’s directorial debut, since the studios must have been impressed with what they saw in Paglen’s script to hire him for the Prometheus sequel, right?

What are your thoughts on this news? Are you excited to see another Prometheus film?
