Alfonso Cuaron’s ‘Gravity’ to Open Venice Film Festival!


Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity – a deep-space thriller starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts stranded after their space station explodes – has been announced as the opening film for the 70th annual Venice Film Festival. The fest will run from August 28 through September 7. Cuaron has had success in the past with Venice, having won awards for a couple of his films – Y Tu Mamá También (2001) and Children of Men (2006) – there. Watch the trailer for Gravity here.
