Kelly Reichardt is set for a busy festival season this year as her new film, Night Moves, heads first to Venice then to Toronto for screenings. Even more exciting for the writer-directer, her latest directorial feature will be in competition for the Golden Lion at Venice. Reichardt’s previous effort, Meek’s Cutoff (2010) starring Michelle Williams, also competed for the grand prize in Venice. As one of the seven U.S. produced films in contention (out of 20 total), Reichardt’s entry is part of the strong American presence at Venice this year.
