Will Win: Jared Leto – Dallas Buyers Club

Should Win: Michael Fassbender – 12 Years a Slave

Should Have Been Nominated: John Goodman – Inside Llewyn Davis

Jared Leto is great, and his campaign has been on cruise control for a while now and will continue that way until his name is called, but Michael Fassbender keeps getting the shaft. After being snubbed for superb work in Steve McQueen’s “Shame” the actor will once again go away empty handed for his terrifying and brutal performance in “12 Years a Slave.”

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Will Win: Lupita Nyong’o – 12 Years a Slave

Should Win: Lupita Nyong’o – 12 Years a Slave

Should Have Been Nominated: Scarlett Johansson – Her

Lupita Nyong’o gives one of the greatest screen debuts of all time in “12 Years a Slave,” so there is no question she deserves the win. On the flip side, her rival in this category, Jennifer Lawrence, was brilliant once again with her fiery performance and could steal this one away, but it would be a shame if that happens. The Academy should spread the love with these two great young talents.
