Six Spot #3: Best Supporting Actor 2012

Oscar Question

Welcome back to the Six Spot!  In case you’re new to the Six Spot, this is a column where I look at the cold hard facts to determine who or what would have been the sixth nominee of any given category in any given year.  Feel free to catch up on the heated discussion in the comments following my hypotheses of the 1998 Best Actor race and the game-changing 2008 Best Picture race. But this week, we journey back to the very near past: 2012.  In what stands today as the only acting category to ever be comprised of former winners, we’ll see what just who was on the outside looking in of the Best Supporting Actor race of 2012!  (Also, thanks to commenter Kevin for the idea of this Six Spot!)
