Back in 2000, I put together my very first top 100 films of all time list after a rather exhausting and extensive two year period of watching just over 1000 films to bulk up my already solid film base. I started from A and worked my way to Z, watching films spanning from 1915 to the current date, until I had what I felt was a decent enough list of the best films of all time.
I revise the list every five years because new films come out and, well, tastes change as you mature and grow old (as this site will consistently remind you that I am). So being that next year is a revision year, Top 100 4.0, I am beginning to revisit films from the last five-plus years in order to consider them for the list.
So, my dear readers, I was hoping you would assist me by listing the three films from 2008 to current date that you felt deserved consideration for such a list. Sound fun?
While mine are yet undecided, here are the three I am currently looking at with the best odds of getting on the list, though it is early in my revision process, so the order is definitely subject to change.
My Circuit 3 for Best Films Since 2008:
- The Social Network (2010)
- Inglourious Basterds (2009)
- The Tree of Life (2011)
What three films do you think are the best in that time span?
