ACCA_Movies“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…”

It’s that time again for our Awards Circuit Community.  Preliminary voting is now open for the 2014 Awards Circuit Community Awards for our entire readership to weigh in upon.  Standing strong for six years, along with our continous success of going back and voting on past years, people from far and wide come to offer up their opinions on the years in cinema.

Now legitimized on the iMDB’s awards pages (Congratulations readers) this year, we have two exciting inclusions.  We have finally added two categories by popular demand that will be offered moving forward.  Best Makeup & Hairstyling and Best Original Song.  Both will have five nominees each.

Rules of this first round are very simple.  You have the opportunity to vote on 20 categories:

  • BEST MOTION PICTURE
  • BEST DIRECTOR
  • BEST ACTOR
  • BEST ACTRESS
  • BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
  • BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
  • BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
  • BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
  • BEST ANIMATED FEATURE
  • BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE
  • BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN
  • BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
  • BEST COSTUME DESIGN
  • BEST FILM EDITING
  • BEST MAKEUP & HAIRSTYLING
  • BEST SOUND
  • BEST VISUAL EFFECTS
  • BEST ORIGINAL SCORE
  • BEST ORIGINAL SONG
  • BEST CAST ENSEMBLE
  • BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM

You will have six choices in each category EXCEPT Best Motion Picture where you will have ten choices.  You will also have an opportunity for a write-in choice in case your favorite film or performance is not listed.  Make sure to carefully read the lists because if you write in a choice that is already listed, the vote will not count.

Nominations will be announced on Sunday, January 25, 2015 on the Awards Circuit Power Hour.  All categories will be announced on the episode and voting will be closed just minutes prior to the episode beginning.

Go to our ACCA Voting Station to place your votes for the year’s best films and performances.  Also, check out some of the FYC advertisements made by some of our esteemed readers (thanks Ben Kelly, Kyle Torres, Josh Parham, Dan Foster).  Even staff writers Terence Johnson  and Mark Johnson got in on the fun.

Happy Voting everyone!
