Circuit 3: Best of the Decade… So Far

C3

It’s hard to believe, but we are already halfway through the decade. It seems like just yesterday I was naming The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003), No Country for Old Men (2007), and There Will Be Blood (2007) my three best films of the aughts.

Obviously, there is a lot to choose from. Looking back at some of the films I have rated as the best of the year, I’m torn between some pretty great films from legends like Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Terrence Malick, David Fincher, Kathryn Bigelow, Alfonso Cuaron, Darren Aronofsky, Christopher Nolan, and Paul Thomas Anderson. Pretty exciting group of filmmakers, no?

So let’s make this a cornucopia of lists this week. I’m going to list my three best from each year of the decade, as well as a cumulative top three. Feel free to do the same or any variation if you like.
