As a pretty big Cameron Crowe fan, I’d been waiting for a new film from the man for some time now. I’ve yet to dislike any of his work (yes, even Elizabethtown, which I actually love and revisit quite often), and in particular had been interested in his once abandoned Hawaii set project. That was initially called “Deep Tiki,” but it’s been reworked and now is his next movie, this time called Aloha.
Crowe has a hell of a cast on board, including Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone as the romantic leads, with Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, Rachel McAdams, Danny McBride, Bill Murray, and more. A first trailer has hit for the movie, and it looks like some solid romantic comedy fun. The film hits on May 29th, and while I’m skeptical that it’ll turn into an awards vehicle, any new work from Crowe is worthy of celebration in my book. Expect a great soundtrack, among other pleasures. Aloha has more than enough talent to be a big hit, so fingers crossed here that Crowe has another ace up his sleeve. Take a look at the trailer below, which oddly enough lists Crowe as “Academy Award Nominated” despite having won Best Original Screenplay for Almost Famous.
Anyway, take a gander and stay tuned for more on this one. I’m greatly looking forward to seeing Aloha…
