Oscars 2015: Who Will Win/Should Win (Karen Peterson)

It’s Oscar Week! Each staff member will be revealing their final picks for the upcoming Academy Awards on February 22. Missed one? Click on Will Win/Should Win 2015. Make sure to make your picks in our Oscar Pool hosted by Fun Office Pools.

This year has been one of the most fun award years in a long time. Because it’s been so hard to predict. Even now, as I look over my selections, there are so many question marks that remain. I chose because I HAD to, not because I necessarily felt strongly about one film over another. With a few exceptions, obviously. I’d rather see Foxcatcher forgotten, while in a different year and with different competition, I would give every award to The Grand Budapest Hotel.

But, choose we must. And I’ve pondered and analyzed and looked at the precursors and consulted my crystal ball. And this is the best I could do.
