Watch the International Trailer for ‘Dark Places’ with Charlize Theron, Adapted from Novel by Gillian Flynn

charlizetheron-darkplacesOne of the big misses of last Oscar season was Gillian Flynn’s outstanding script for “Gone Girl” in Adapted Screenplay.  Adapted from her own novel, the film was snubbed overall, only yielding a single nomination for its star Rosamund Pike in Best Actress.  The next Flynn novel being adapted is “Dark Places” starring Academy Award nominee Charlize Theron.  The film is directed and written by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, who’s most high-profile effort was 2010’s “Sarah’s Key” with Kristin Scott Thomas.  Today, we have the international trailer.

The film tells the story of a woman, who survived the brutal killing of her family as a child is forced to confront the events of that day by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes.

“Dark Places” also stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Christina Hendricks, Nicholas Hoult, Corey Stoll, Drea de Matteo, and Tye Sheridan.  There’s also a very respectable tech team backing that include Cinematographer Barry Ackroyd (“The Hurt Locker” and “Captain Phillips”), Film Editor Douglas Crise (“Birdman” and “Babel”) and Billy Fox (HBO’s “Band of Brothers”), and Production Designer Laurence Bennett (“The Artist”).

“Dark Places” is distributed by A24 Films and is due out sometime in 2015.
