The inaugural All Def Movie Awards were held in Los Angeles Wednesday night. Hosted by Oscar host Chris Rock’s brother, Tony Rock, the awards will air on Fusion on Sunday, Feb. 28 opposite ABC’s broadcast of the Oscars.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, All Def Digital’s Russell Simmons created the awards in response to “the stunning lack of diversity” in Hollywood. The awards set “Beasts of No Nation,” “Chi-raq,” “Concussion,” “Creed,” “Dope” and “Straight Outta Compton” against each other for best picture. “Straight Outta Compton,” which is nominated for its original screenplay at Sunday’s Oscars, took home the prize.

“Creed” also picked up some big awards. Star Michael B. Jordan won for best actor, while his director Ryan Coogler won for directing the film. Jordan’s co-star Sylvester Stallone is the sole nominee of the film at the Oscars.

Star of “The Perfect Guy,” Sanaa Lathan, picked up best actress honors. “Concussion” star Will Smith, who was shut out at the Oscars, received the first Lifetime Achievement Award.

The All Def Movie Awards also featured some unique categories such as Best Helpful White Person, the award that went to Christoph Waltz, Best Bad Muh F—ka Award, and Most Quoted Movie, which was voted on by fans.
