17. “Jack Rabbit Slim’s” – Pulp Fiction (1994)
John Travolta returns in this iconic scene which nearly defines Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. On first blush the scene has little bearing on the overall plot, but it shows the chemistry between Uma Thurman’s Mia Wallace and Travolta’s Vincent Vega. Mia takes the lead, not just demanding Vincent dance with her but through her continued eye contact and steps forward her dominance in the dance comes through. Thurman’s frenetic, moving up/down, side-to-side while Vincent can do little more than follow her lead.
