The new trailer for “The Magnificent Seven” is here, and with it comes the first look at Chris Pratt and Denzel Washington fighting for justice.
Per ComingSoon.net, director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ “The Magnificent Seven.” With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
The film, which is a remake of the 1960 Western film of the same name, also stars Cam Gigandet, Haley Bennett, Matt Bomer and Vinnie Jones. John Lee Hancock, Richard Wenk and Nic Pizzolatto penned the screenplay.
The project is one of many coming down the pipelines for Washington, who had a big start to his year when he won the Cecil B. DeMille Award at this year’s Golden Globes for his outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment. The popular actor has the screen adaptation of the play “Fences” in the works with Viola Davis, as well as the recently announced sequel to “The Equalizer.”
