“Suicide Squad” is a week away from release, and word has spread that a last minute addition to the film has been made.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the film will now feature a cameo by Ezra Miller as The Flash. The outlet says that sources confirm the scene will not be a credits scene, but will be part of the movie itself. The move is a testament to the importance of the character in the forthcoming additions to the DC universe. No other details were given.
The new scene is one of many reported tweaks to the film, which Warner Bros. hopes will have a better reception than the one given to “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which opened earlier this spring to widespread negative reviews. In the aftermath, it was rumored that Warner Bros. had decided to spend “tens of millions of dollars” to reshoot “Suicide Squad” in order to avoid another calamity.
Later, Jai Courtney (who portrays Boomerang in the film) said of the rumors, “I wouldn’t say we’re going back to make it funnier. There’s some additional action stuff that we’ve been doing, which is really dope.”
Director David Ayer later clarified via Twitter. In a post on his official account, he said:

Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Raymond Olubowale, Alex Meraz, Jim Parrack, and Common all appear in the film as well in unspecified roles. A sequel is already being planned for the film.
