Two-time Oscar-winner Ang Lee is no stranger to the awards season or the fall festivals. His 1997 film “The Ice Storm” and 2012 film “Life of Pi” both opened NYFF while “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” was the closing night film in 2000. His newest endeavor, which is shot in 4K, native 3D, and at the ultra-high rate of 120 frames-per-second, is on the tongues of all awards analysts. Placed as a “Special Presentation” at NYFF, the feature will introduce the world to young Joe Alwyn, and could be a contender for actors Kristen Stewart and Steve Martin. On October 14th, we’ll get a definitive answer.
