Capri Hollywood Fest Crowns ‘La La Land’ Best Film, Michael Keaton Surprises in Best Actor

The Capri Hollywood International Film Festival in Italy crowned “La La Land” the best film of 2016 today. Damien Chazelle’s musical took six total awards during the fest, including Best Actress for Emma Stone. The film also took home Best Ensemble Cast, Best Photography for Linus Sandgren, Best Score for Justin Hurwitz and Best Song for “City of Stars.” Mel Gibson nabbed Best Director, however, for his film “Hacksaw Ridge.”

That film shared Best Actor honors between its Andrew Garfield and “The Founder” leading man Michael Keaton.

Lion” and “Hacksaw Ridge” each took five awards. Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel took home supporting acting mentions, and the film also won the Humanitarian Award.
