Welcome back to the Academy Idol X Top 11! We’re back with the results for our last round, as well as opening the next round of voting. First off, we’ll jump into the results from the Top 11.

Top 11 Results

Our films that are safe this round are: “Arrival,” “Manchester By the Sea,” “Moonlight,” “La La Land,” “Hell or High Water,” “Nocturnal Animals,” “Loving,” and “Jackie.” Our bottom three was very tight, with “Silence,” “Zootopia,” and “The Jungle Book.” This is the first time in the bottom three for “Silence,” but the second for both “Zootopia” and “Jungle Book.” The two Disney films have struggled, and this week, they’re our bottom two. In the battle between talking animals, our film going home is….”Zootopia.” While the Disney animated feature is still in the running for the Best Animated Feature Oscar, it couldn’t quite outlast its Disney running mate.

Top 10 Voting Rules

This leaves us with 10 films left in the running, and this week, we’re doubling up! So far, the only films remaining that have bottom three finishes are “Loving,” “The Jungle Book” and “Silence.” However, this last round a few surprising films were only just above the fray, so this round will likely be extremely tight. With a double elimination in the running, we’re going one step further. Rather than pick up to five of your favorite films of the year, this time we’re only asking you to vote for your No. 1 of the year. Like the Academy, you’ll vote with passion rather than spreading the wealth, so choose wisely.  Many of these films will face an uphill battle for Oscar, so it will be interesting to see which ones prevail with Academy Idol.

Who are you voting for? Which films do you think are going home? Let us know in the comments below!

The Academy Idol X Top 10 will close on Jan. 7. The Top 8 will open on Jan. 9.
