The emotional first trailer for “The Glass Castle,” starring Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson and Naomi Watts, is here. Check it out below.

Larson’s “Short Term 12” director Destin Daniel Cretton directed. Cretton and Andrew Lanham adapted the script for the big screen from Jeannette Walls’ memoir of the same name.

Per IMDB, the film follows a young girl who comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads with a mother who’s an eccentric artist and an alcoholic father who would stir the children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.

Harrelson plays the children’s father, Rex Walls. Watts is playing the role of Rose Mary Walls, the eccentric mother.

Larson, who is fresh off her 2016 Best Actress win, plays the adult version of Jeannette Walls. The Academy Award winner has several other projects in the works, including Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Captain Marvel.” She is also in post-production on her directorial debut, “Unicorn Store.”

Also appearing in the film are Max Greenfield, Sarah Snook and Iain Armitage. Armitage recently impressed audiences as 5-year-old Ziggy Chapman in the HBO mini-series “Big Little Lies.”

The film is produced by Gil Netter and Ken Kao. Netter has two Academy Award nominations, for “Life of Pi” and “The Blind Side.” Kao produced last year’s “Silence.”

“The Glass Castle” hits theaters Aug. 11. Check out the first trailer below:
