Marvel’s had a busy Saturday at San Diego Comic Con. On Saturday, they released a new trailer for this fall’s “Thor: Ragnarok.”
The third Thor-centric film shows what the God of Thunder was up to instead of joining last year’s Civil War. From the studio:
In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!
Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo reprise their roles as Thor and the Hulk. Also returning is Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Other returning cast members are Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, and Jaimie Alexander. Cate Blanchett (“Lord of the Rings”) is the powerful villain Hela. Also joining the cast is Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster. The Grandmaster made a brief, uncredited appearance in “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2.”
Taika Waititi takes over directing duties. He is best known for his work with the well-received “Things We Do in the Shadows” and “Hunt for the Wilderpeople.” The script is by Eric Pearson, who wrote for the series “Agent Carter.”
“Thor: Ragnarok” is set for theaters on November 3.
