Marvel’s took the opportunity to reveal a new poster for its upcoming “Black Panther.”
Their panel presentation, which included director Ryan Coolger and most of the cast, also revealed footage of the highly anticipated film. That footage is not yet available for anyone not lucky enough to snag a ticket.
The two-minute trailer has reached nearly 30 million views.
“Black Panther” follows T’Challa, prince of Wakanda, back to his homeland after the events of “Captain America: Civil War.”
The film is highly anticipated for many reasons, the most important that it is the first in the MCU to feature a person of color in the leading role. Chadwick Boseman, who introduced the character in “Civil War,” now stars in this first film. Joining him are Lupita Nyong’o (“12 Years a Slave’) and Danai Gurira (“The Walking Dead”). Michael B. Jordan (“Creed”) is Erik Killmonger. The film also stars Martin Freeman, reprising a role he began in “Civil War,” and Andy Serkis, who appeared in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
“Black Panther” is due in theaters on February 16, 2018.
