Netflix has announced another new original series, “American Vandal.”
The true crime satire is comprised of eight 30-minute episodes, and was created by Tony Yacenda (“Pillow Talking”) and Dan Perrault (Honest Trailers). Yacenda also directed several episodes of the show. Dan Lagana serves as showrunner.
The series “explores the aftermath of a costly high school prank that left twenty-seven faculty cars vandalized with phallic images.” A sophomore documentarian sets out to uncover the truth after a troubled, potentially innocent, senior is expelled for the crime.
The “American Vandal” includes Tyler Alvarez (“Orange is the New Black”), Jimmy Tatro (”22 Jump Street”), Camille Hyde (”Power Rangers Dino Charge”) and Eduardo Franco (”Adam Ruins Everything”). Jessica Juarez, Lou Wilson, Camille Ramsey , Calum Worthy, and G Hannelius also appear.
“American Vandal” is produced for Netflix by CBS Television Studios, Funny Or Die, and 3Arts.
The complete first season will be available on Netflix September 15.
