Sony Pictures Classics has released a new collection of images from its upcoming film “Call Me By Your Name.”
The film, which stars Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet, is the coming-of-age story of a teenage boy, Elio, who develops a relationship with a charming American scholar, Oliver, during a summer in Italy. As the relationship between the two blooms, Elio’s once solid relationship with his parents suffers. And, he also finds himself questioning a romance with local girl Marzia. The film is set in 1983 and is based on the novel by André Aciman.
Luca Guadagnino directs this film which has already garnered a lot of attention leading up to its release. To date, he is best known for his films “A Bigger Splash” and “Io sono l’amore,” both of which were popular on the festival circuit in their respective years.
The screenplay was adapted by James Ivory. The three-time Oscar nominee previously adapted the English novels “Howard’s End,” “The Remains of the Day,” and “A Room With a View.”
“Call Me By Your Name” also stars Michael Stuhlbarg (“Fargo”), Amira Casar (“Versailles”), and Esther Garrel (“Daydreams”).
